Lady Gaga Wins ‘Most Provocative Celebrity’ Award
“Showbiz Tonight” has awarded Lady Gaga the coveted honor of being the most provocative celebrity of the year. In the process, the singer triumphed over other finalists such as Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson.
The show, which is anchored by Brooke Anderson and AJ Hammer, handed the award to Lady Gaga due to the fact that her name alone evokes a sense of being provocative. Not only that, the oft-outrageously dressed singer was also the first person to have over than 1 billion views on video sharing website YouTube, as well as 6 million followers on her Twitter account.
Apart from that, Lady Gaga has also been advocating the movement to end bullying via her video campaigns. To top it off, she’s a best-selling artist with multiple platinum albums under her belt.
Past winners of the provocative celebrity of the year include Britney Spears, which won it back-to-back in 2006 and 2007 – and politician Sarah Palin in 2008.
